We were engaged to develop a distinctive visual identity and brand system that would support the Centre's international reputation while remaining approachable, inclusive, and community-focused.

The Brand.
WLCE Brand Identity
The World Leisure Centre of Excellence needed a visual identity that reflected its role as a globally connected hub for research, education, and community engagement. We developed a modern brand system that balances academic credibility with warmth, inclusivity, and collaboration.
Inspired by the natural landscapes of Vancouver Island and the surrounding Salish Sea, the identity uses vibrant blues and greens to convey movement, connection, growth, and wellbeing. The result is a distinctive and flexible brand that supports WLCE's mission while strengthening its connection to Vancouver Island University and its international network of partners.
How we did it.
The Challenge
Create a professional yet welcoming brand that could represent a world-class research centre while engaging diverse audiences across academia, government, industry, and community organizations.
The Solution
We developed a complete visual identity system including logo design, colour palette, typography, brand standards, and communication guidelines. Inspired by connection, collaboration, and the natural landscape of Vancouver Island, the identity provides a flexible foundation for research initiatives, events, publications, partnerships, and digital communications.
